We are a happy family again...Hal took on our case where a family member was charged with threatening a public official, a class 3 felony in Illinois with possible prison time. Hal was very responsive and professional throughout the whole process. He is definitely one of the most knowledgeable lawyers I have ever come across....knows the law like the back of his hand. Hal was ready to fight this all the way to trial, and I'm sure he could have won this case but it was our decision to plea this down if possible. My family and I are beyond greatful for everything Mr. Garfinkle did for us. Last week we concluded an almost four year process to conclude my brother's case. His case was very complex, he had everything stacked against him. He showed up to court more times than I can count, while he was also negotiating and standing up for my brother behind the scenes. He is always just a text or call away if you have any questions. He is the one that personally takes care of you, you don't have to go through other staff members to get an answer. I called many law firms before someone referred us to Mr. Garfinkle, and most attorneys had extremely high fees with very large retainers. We were starting to lose hope when we spoke to him. He offered us payments that were accessible to us, and although the case stretched out more than we would have imagined he didn't charge us an additional fee. The hard work results from Hal were worth every penny we paid Hal. We hired Hal to Represent our son in a case that could have sent him to Federal prison for 20++ years and $250,000 in fines. Our son had admitted his guilt but Hal worked at negotiated an amazing plea deal for our son. The federal prosecutor asked the judge to sentence our son to 12.5 years and then Hal did his job and the judge heard him & now our son will be incarcerated for 4.5 years instead of 20+ and no fines. Hire this man! I hired Mr.Garfinkel back in Dec 2019. for my 2nd DWI, and I blew almost 3 times the legal limit. The only thing I really had working in my favor was that I'm not from Chicago, where I got the DUI. Hal pushed my charges out for almost 4 years, and in the end he got me exactly what we were hoping for. 3 charges dismissed and the DUI reduced to wreckless driving. This was the only way I wouldn't lose my license. He knew that's what I needed and he didn't settle until that's what we got. Highly recommended!

I was looking for an experienced attorney to handle my legal matter and I found Mr. Garfinkel through a Google search. He told me that he was very busy that day but was willing to take the time in between his busy court schedule to talk with me. So please be patient with me as I start from the beginning, I met Hal in June 2022 when my one and only son landed himself in big trouble while dating a young lady who alleged that he forced her into his car pulling a gun on her hitting with it after they got into a verbal/ Physical altercation. Hal is a brilliant lawyer he told my son what his options were and suggested that he plead guilty and offered him a 402 conference meeting with the judge and the states attorneys behind closed doors. Now remember my son was facing 6 to 30 years. After the meeting my son walked away with 30 days in the county, along with 30 months probation. The kidnapping charge was thrown out.
